Breeding Programme

We started breeding around 15 years ago, with a successful show jumper whose wins had included Horse of the Year Show. Since then our breeding operation has gradually grown to include eight mares, and three licensed stallions. It’s very important to us that the mares we use in our breeding programme have performed themselves; our current broodmares have results in sport up to 1.50m at international level. All our mares have demonstrated jumping ability themselves prior to being used, and come from strong dam lines with proven performance in sport. They all carry exceptional bloodlines, move well and are well put together.

We use our own stallions in our breeding programme, and also out-cross to some of the best European bloodlines, both proven performers and also using exciting up and coming stallions. We choose the stallions we use based on their ability, trainability and type, with of course excellent conformation and athleticism.

We always have a selection of quality youngsters with top class bloodlines, bred to excel in show-jumping or eventing. Bloodlines in our current youngstock include:

From foals to newly broken four year olds and horses contesting young horse and international classes we would hope to have something to suit. All of our youngstock are British Bred and passported with the AES or Breeders Elite studbooks.

Stallion Services

We offer both walk in and resident stallion collection services, we can collect and inseminate on site, ship chilled semen throughout the UK and working alongside Newmarket vets Rossdales LLP, we are able to offer test freezing and freezing services. We also provide dummy training for stallions.

Mare Services

We take mares on both short and long term residential basis for AI and foaling. We are flexible with mares and able to follow their normal routine as closely as possible, either stabled or living out individually or in small groups. For mares using either our own stallions or any of our walk in stallions we do not charge for stallion collections. We are able to take mares in for fresh, chilled or frozen collections. All vet work is carried out by highly experienced stud vets from leading vet practice Rossdales LLP.

We have several large foaling boxes, all equipped with CCTV to enable us to monitor your mare closely and without intrusion 24 hours a day,prior to foaling.

Weaning and Boarding

With well established and maintained pasture, all fenced in post and rail, we offer year round boarding for both mares and youngstock. alongside seasonal AI services and foaling down mares. Mares and youngstock live out in small groups throughout the Spring, Summer and Autumn and are wintered in comfortable barn and yard accommodation, with access to outside yards and ad lib hay or haylage.

If all goes well, and I think we could try again sometime, I can think of no better place to send her, they obviously know what they are dong and do it well. Annie has just been scanned and still in foal, so we're looking forward to next year.

We used Clements Equine last year to foal down our event broodmares. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Charlotte is extremely professional both with the client and the horses. She is super organised which was great for me as I am not always! The facilities are great, with the girls settling into there huge comfy stables very quickly. Charlotte is great in keeping in touch and made me very welcome whenever I would just drop in and visit. We very sadly had complications with one of the births which meant we had to have a foal put to sleep due to severe birth defects. Charlotte and her team were fantastic they kept me informed and dealt with everything exceptionally quickly and professionally minimising any stress for both the mare and myself. We will definitly use them again this year and recommend them for all your livery needs.
